While people identifying as female's participation and success in the motion picture industry has improved over the years, female identifying people are still facing bias and challenges in our sector. Discrimination isn’t always that obvious and many female identifying people face microaggressions on a frequent basis. Below are some resources aimed specifically at people who identify as female:

Menopause Foundation of Canada

In the prime of life, you deserve to feel healthy. Take charge of your menopause by relying on evidence-based information to understand what’s happening to your body, why you may be feeling the way you do, and what preventative care, lifestyle choices and treatment options can make a difference.

ShelterSafe (Women’s Shelters Canada)

A navigation tool to find safety from domestic violence, maintained by Women’s Shelters Canada. ShelterSafe.ca is an online resource that helps women and their children locate the nearest women’s shelter and its 24/7 crisis hotline, anywhere in Canada.

Menopause: Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development

Help break the stigma of menopause, and create supportive workplaces for women at every stage of life. The menopause is a natural stage of life and yet it remains a taboo subject in many workplaces. Women experiencing menopausal symptoms require the same support and understanding from their employer as anyone experiencing any ongoing health condition. Discover resources on supporting employees experiencing the menopause

Pacific Post Partum Support Society (PPPSS)

Nonprofit supporting families experiencing postpartum depression or anxiety. Provides telephone & text support Monday–Friday 10:00am–3:00pm (PT) with trained staff, and offers free weekly peer support groups (online and in-person) for BC parents with babies under 18 months. Also supplies educational resources and partner/family coaching to end the isolation new parents often feel. Call/Text (support line): 604-255-7999 (Lower Mainland) or 1-855-255-7999 (toll-free)
