Addiction/Rehabilitation Programs & Treatment Funding
Funding/reimbursement for Treatment/Rehabilitation:

What is the benefit: Financial assistance for in-patient treatment at a facility recognized as a rehabilitation centre for the treatment of drug or alcohol addiction

Amount Available: Once-in-a-lifetime up to $10,000 for in-patient charges

Eligibility & Terms: In good standing with AFBS for at least 5 years prior to making application.

Extended Health Benefits Specific to Mental Health:
What is the Benefit/Value: The reimbursement percentage, per visit maximum and annual maximum are based on the Members’ insurance Benefit Level.
Eligibility: Insurance at the Bronze, Silver or Gold Benefit Level

Short-Term Disability Program
Short-term Disability Administered by: AFBS

Description of Benefits: 60% of eligible ACTRA/UBCP, ACTRA and WGC earning reported to AFBS to a weekly maximum of $1,500. 7 day waiting period before benefit payments commence. Maximum benefit period is 52 weeks.
Eligibility: Members insured at the Silver or Gold benefit level.
